SUNDAY BRUNCH BUFFET- FUND-RAISING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A "SLOBA PRIMARY SCHOOL" IN CHINA

By the grace of the Good Lord, all of us have been blessed with the good fortune of receiving education at our Alma Mater during our formative and impressionable years. More often than not, we may well have taken for granted that this is the way things should be in the world. How often have we spared a few minutes to reflect and come to realize that this is not so and to thank the Good Lord for our good fortune? It is high time that we should share our good fortune with those who are less fortunate.
To this end, SLOBA is launching a fund-raising campaign for the purpose of establishing a ¡§SLOBA Primary School¡¨ to serve the children in a location in the Province of Guangdong to be determined in consultation with the Salesians of Don Bosco (¡§SDB¡¨), China Province. At the moment, the SDB is operating 8 primary schools and 2 secondary schools in the region.
In order to establish a ¡§SLOBA Primary School¡¨, the minimum sum of HK$300,000 is required which is the target of this fund-raising campaign.
We hope to achieve this target by holding a ¡§Sunday Brunch Buffet¡¨ on Sunday 26th September 2004 at Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, 64 Mody Road, Kowloon from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at HK$400 per head. Old boys are strongly encouraged to bring their families and/or guests along. This will definitely be a golden opportunity for fellow old boys to get together and do a bit of catching-up, which is indeed long overdue. The House of Fathers of our Alma Mater will also be invited to honour the occasion. The proceeds from the Sunday Brunch, upon deduction of all the expenses, shall be applied towards the said target of HK$300,000.
In addition to the proceeds from the Sunday Brunch Buffet which, understandably, will account for only a small portion of the target, we are therefore seeking your indispensable help, without which this SLOBA Primary School will not be able to see the light of the day, by way of your generous sponsorship in the following fashion : -
1) Diamond Patron ¡V HK$100,000
2) Gold Patron ¡V HK$50,000
3) Silver Patron ¡V HK$30,000
4) Bronze Patron ¡V HK$10,000
As a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for the generous support, 4 complimentary tickets to the Sunday Brunch Buffet will be given to every patron. In recognition of the patrons¡¦ generosity and indispensable support, tokens of appreciation will be presented to all the patrons by our guest(s) of honour during the Sunday Brunch Buffet.
To encourage SLOBA members to take advantage of SLOBA credit cards, we have arranged that all donations can be made either by cheques or by SLOBA credit cards in favour of ¡§SLOBA Foundation Limited¡¨.
Please show your support to SLOBA for this worthwhile cause by your presence together with that of your guests at the Sunday Brunch Buffet and/or, better yet, by being a patron of the Sunday Brunch Buffet.
