I would like to give you a further update on the progress on the issue of “Fine Tuning Language Policy”

  • The School together with SLOBA has organized a press briefing on Jan 7, Thursday.
  • The main theme of the messages are:
    • Creating a joyful and effective learning environment has been the mission of St. Louis School for more than 80 years. This mission will continue under the “Fine Tuning Language Policy” .
    • St. Louis is and will remain an English School. Only one class out of the five F.1 classes will be affected. The class will study History and Geography in Chinese. English is used in the majority of the other subjects.
    • St. Louis Old Boys’ Association has been giving financial and other supports to the School to improve the quality of education in academic, personal development and extracurricular activities.
    • St. Louis Old Boys’ Association will set up a “School Development Fund” to help the school, with an initial fund raising target of HK$ 10M .
  • These messages are reported in many major newspapers today. The coverage is overall very positive. I enclose 3 press clippings for your reference.

  • As previously advised, an “Information Session” will be held for the parents of P.6 students tomorrow. We believe that this session will be well attended .
