Dear Alumni,

For eighty years, the pioneers have sowed and sweated on this piece of fertile land;

On 2nd May, graduates bring honor to a name in the district and unite again.

Having received innumerable blessings from God and valuable guidance from Don Bosco, St Louis School has planted its feet firmly on ‘preventive education’ and ‘piety and knowledge’ since its establishment. All the priests, principals and teachers have exerted their utmost to develop one's character and made endless contributions to the society.

Thanks to the unflagging support of old boys, parents, teachers and students, the SL80 Fund-Raising Walkathon was complete on a jolly note on 11th Nov 2007. Another fund-raising event that can bring cohorts of old boys together is “The SL80th Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner”. It will be held at the Grand Hall of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on 2nd May 2008. What makes the Dinner so special? It is an opportunity for us to meet the former teachers and fathers, offering our sincere thanks to their enlightenment and guidance. Batches of graduates can join their heads to collect their fond memories: played with their old mates till late night on the football playground and basketball court, organized joint school balls, took part in quiz shows on TV … The dinner is a platform to rebuild our community network and show our affection to the other ‘school brothers’. It surely is a warm family return to understand better the latest development of our school and the way ahead.

Taking the recent education reforms on board, numerous curriculum changes and school improvement projects are on the pipeline so as to create a conducive learning environment for our students and extend their potentials. The funding and provisions offered by the EDB may not be sufficient to sustain various projects. An estimate of $1.5 millions is required to run the projects in the coming few years. We strongly pledge for your generosity to make donations or book tables for the Thanksgiving Dinner. All the proceeds will go to the furnishing work of IT facilities and the deployment of drama teachers and professionals to enhance the school music, cultural and sports developments.

Been here, grow up here, attach to our Alma Mater with affection and nostalgia! Let's join hands to start a new chapter of St. Louis. Enclosed you find a booking form and a sponsorship form for the SL80th Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner.

各位親愛的校友：

八十樹人，點點雨露，甘甜深澤花苗

五二聚首，燁燁桃李，芳馥遠遍中西

承蒙天主的眷念與保守，聖鮑思高神父的指引與啟?，聖類斯學校貫徹「學識與虔敬並重」的宗旨，篤行「預防教育法」，至今已有八十個春秋。自創校以來，神長、校長、師長齊心協力，鍥而不捨，成就德、智、體、群、美、靈六育，培育社會棟樑。

為了慶賀創校八十周年，學校已於十一月十一日舉行步行籌款日；該日得到退休老師、歷屆校友及全校師生矢志支持，出錢出力，活動圓滿成功。活動好事成雙，各位校友不容錯失！第二個校慶籌款活動為「八十周年晚宴」，將於二零零八年五月二日假香港會議展覽中心大會堂舉行。晚宴是一個聚首的好時機，讓校友可以感激神長與師長以往啟蒙之厚恩、扶掖之深情；讓同屆校友可以緬懷校園點滴、了解近日情況；讓不同年代畢業的校友可以互相認識、彼此砥礪，體現關愛。晚宴也是一個「回家」的好時機，讓各方校友可以明白學校現今的運作，前瞻學校未來的發展。

學校近年來為了應付教育的改革，在課程規劃及校舍設施上都做了很多配合及增進，好讓莘莘學弟可以在良好的學習環境下提升學習效能，增強自我信心。由於學校資源不足，政府津貼有限，未來教育計畫的經費非能獨力承擔。因此，除了步行籌款，學校也藉著晚宴這個好時機，懇請校友一起肩負發展聖類斯學校的重任。今年籌募的目標是港幣 150 萬，校友可以慷慨解囊，直接捐贈；也可以預訂晚宴貴賓席，所得捐贈扣除必要開支，餘下款項將會用作完善教室資訊科技措施、聘請外籍教師教授英語話劇及專業人士推展音樂藝術體育等課外活動。

生於斯，長於斯，心繫於斯，不捨如斯！隨函附上八十周年貴賓席預訂及贊助表格，盼望校友能發揮「讓我來」的精神，踴躍回應，亟力參與，共同撰寫聖類斯學校歷史的新一頁。花苗得到悉心的護理下，定會茁壯成長；聖類斯學校未來的桃李，定會繼續造福人群！
