I am pleased to announce that the new Council was elected in AGM on 18 January 2014. In AGM, there was almost a full house of attendance at the GP Room of St. Louis. It was our honor of having Supervisor Fr. Lam, Principal Dr. Yip, former teachers, current teachers and parent representatives as our guests there. Prior to AGM, we gathered at the chapel with the guidance of Fr. Lam and received God’s blessing. After the AGM, we held the Annual Dinner at the passage between the basketball court and soccer pitch. Participants filled 15 tables, including Rector Fr. Wong, Fr. McKenna, Br. Edward and Br. Lee. We all enjoyed the open air and warm atmosphere of our Alma Mater, which cannot be substituted by the luxury of any private clubhouse.

In the transition to the new Council, I would like to thank everyone of the past Council as they had given time, effort and knowledge for the well being of the old boy community and the School. In particular, Benny Wong (1991) had completed three terms of service in which he made tremendous contributions.
Apart from AGM and Annual Dinner, I would like to draw your attention that the office of SLOBA has been relocated to Wing Lok Street, around 5 minutes walk from the previous location. While remaining at a easily accessible area, the new office is smaller in size and incurs less rental expense. The savings will contribute to the long-term sustainability of SLOBA. Relocation is not easy at all. We have to give credit to Dr. Tang (1976), Dominic Sham (1977) and Peter Ko (1965). From sourcing to implementation, they drove the entire project through in the past few months.

Last but not least, under the leadership of Sunny Tam (1990) and Chapman Chan (captain), SLOBA Football Team won the championship of the Alumni Cup of the Federation of Don Bosco on 5 January 2014 (http://sloba.org/?cmd=event&act=past&itemID=34) . It’s an excellent start of the year. Congratulations to the Team!
